There are a variety of internship opportunities available at the Lackawanna County Chapter, from emergency services to development. Opportunities and spaces depend on the time of year. All internships are unpaid, but give students an opportunity to gain experience in and an understanding of the day-to-day management of a non-profit organization.

Public Relations/Communications Intern
The Public Relations/Communications Intern will have a unique opportunity to learn about non-profit public affairs through hands-on activities and exposure to a wide range of department activities and projects, including disaster response, special events and program areas.
Key Responsibilities: Promote mission of American Red Cross through interaction with media, attendance at community events and drafting of literature.
Reports to: Charlotte Wright, Director of Community Affairs
Development Intern
The Development Intern will have the opportunity to learn about fundraising methods and activities through hand-on activities.
Key Responsibilities: assist Development Director in planning, promoting and delivering special events such as Annual Auction, March is Red Cross Month etc.
Reports to: Cindy Strenkoski, Director of Development
Emergency Services Intern
The Emergency Services Intern will assist in delivering the mission of the American Red Cross – to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities: assist department in providing immediate disaster relief and client casework, and in raising awareness of disaster preparedness.
Reports to: Director of Emergency Services
